Hyderabad to get two Reservoirs: Minister KTR

Hyderabad, Nov 11: The Telangana Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao has said that the proper steps are being taken to ensure permanent drinking problem in the city of Hyderabad.

He said during question hour in the Assembly on Friday that two reservoirs will be built each with 10 TMC capacity will be built at Shamirpet in Keshavapuram mandal and other at Choutuppal to quench the thirst of Hyderabad.

KTR informed about the two new reservoirs when several members sought to know steps for improving drinking water facility in the city.

Besides the two we also plan to construct another reservoir he said and added that tenders will be called soon. Efforts are on to link up Godavari and Krishna rivers to address water-related problems and Drinking water grid is undertaking activities, he said.

Illegal structures on Gandipet and Osman Sagar lakes and several other Nalas in the city will be removed to get back past glory he added.
