TSPSC asks to conduct competitive exams in Urdu

Hyderabad, Nov 10: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has been asked to conduct examinations for the recruitments of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), electricity utilities, The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in the Urdu medium.

Making this announcement in the State Assembly, here on Thursday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the State government had decided to promote the Urdu language which is the historical and cultural heritage of the State.

Earlier, the government had also asked the Centre to take steps in conducting the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) to conduct the entrance examination in Urdu medium.

Following this, the Centre had informed that it has already taken a decision to hold the NEET in Urdu.

Similarly, the State government has also decided to facilitate students from the Urdu medium to give their examinations in their own language. As part of the move, the TSPSC has been asked to take up conducting the examinations of the recruitment of the TSRTC, power utilities and the SCCL in Urdu, he added.
