New Delhi, November 08: This day last year, in a landmark announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had termed Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes as illegal tender.
On the first anniversary of demonetization, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took to Twitter to share the 'success' of note ban.
"125 crore Indians fought a decisive battle and WON. #AntiBlackMoneyDay" he tweeted.
On the otherside, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will today visit Surat, the textile and diamond capital of the country, to participate in a candle-light vigil there as part of the "Black Day" protest by Opposition parties.
