YS Jagan sought Police Protection for his Padayatra

Vijayawada, Nov 03: The Andhra Pradesh Opposition Leader, YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sought permission for his Padayatra from Andhra Pradesh Police here on Thursday.

DGP Samba Siva Rao a few days ago clarified that taking Permissions is necessary for any Padayatra in the state.

Earlier, the Police have not allowed Mudragada's Padayatra for not taking Permission. Initially, YSR Congress does not want to take Permission as it is a Prestige issue. But finally, after brainstorming they have decided to seek permission.

In his letter to the DGP, Jagan sought the permission. "The Padayatra will go on for about Seven months. Very soon, the roadmap for the Padayatra will be given to the Police. I request to ensure proper protection for the Yatra, Jagan wrote."

Jagan's maha padayatra would commence at 11 am on November 6 from Idupulapaya at the YSR Ghat, which is the burial ground of his father and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

Jagan will tour 3,000 kms in six months covering 125 constituencies.
