Woman burnt alive for resisting rape in UP

Badaun UP, Nov 2: In a tragic incident, a woman was burnt alive by her brother-in-law at a village in Uttar Pradesh after she resisted his attempt to rape her.

The Police said that "A 27-year-old woman was burnt alive allegedly by her brother-in-law at a village here after she resisted his attempt to rape her".

They added that "the incident took place last night when Neelam, a widow, was alone at her house in Labhari and she died on the spot after she was burnt alive".

The police added that "the woman's father has lodged a complaint and a search has been launched to arrest the accused, Jitendra and case has been booked against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code".
