Shia Waqf Cheif meets Sri Sri Ravishankar

Bengaluru, Nov 1: In a move to resolve the ram temple dispute at Ayodhya the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Syed Waseem Rizvi met Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The meeting assumes significance because earlier the supreme court has indicated that an out of court settlement can be an option as the issue is sensitive.

The Shia waqf board chief has urged the Spiritual guru to hold talks with only whose who want an amicable solution to the Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid issue and not with those who want to stall the process. Speaking to media Rizvi said that "I have met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji today and our board welcomes these discussions". "We are working for a compromise and a solution where all members feel that no one has lost ".

He slammed the Sunni members and said that "Sunnis have no role in this process as it was a Shia masjid and we have stated our position clearly to supreme court". Finally, he hoped that "the temple construction would start in 2018 and a solution in this regard would be obtained soon".
