AP Govt plans to setup 3 Sub stations in Amaravati

Vijayawada, Oct 27: The AP Transco Joint Managing Director Dinesh Paruchuri announced on Thursday that the government would be taken up the works to provide electricity in new capital Amaravati at an investment of Rs 16,349 crore. He was present at a workshop, along with the officials, here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government planned to set up three sub-stations with 400 KV capacity, 17 sub-stations with 220 KV capacity and 165 substations with capacity of 33 KV in Amaravati. He also said the government has plans to utilize Singapore technology.

He further stated that the government was taking suggestions from experts of various countries to introduce best technology. They would make changes by discussing with the local CRDA officials. The cable rerouting works would be taken up under the supervision of AP Transco, he said. The underground cables would be laid across the capital as per the construction plan.

The cable lines would be replaced and changed from taking suggestions from Singapore consultants, he informed.

He also hoped that they would provide power supply in a satisfactory manner. Several higher officials of energy department and CRDA were also present.
