Army chief Bipin Rawat: Uri attacks may repeat

Army chief Bipin Rawat said on Wednesday said that security agencies were getting reports of terror plans like the Uri attack from across the border. He said the security of installations in hinterlands in Jammu and Kashmir was becoming a cause of concern.

“Security of installations in hinterland is becoming a cause for concern.We are getting reports of Uri like attacks well in depth,” he said.

“We are also looking at Electronic Warfare (EW) system to keep an eye not just on borders but in hinterland also,” he added.

“Major requirement as of now is Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; to keep eye on adversaries on western and northern borders,” he said.
