California fire: Still 10 blazing fires to put off

The deadliest fire in the history of California is still burning giving a tough time to firefighters. About 5,000 firefighters are still battling 10 wildfires.

The authorities said that within next few days the fire will be contained fully. The death toll remained at 42. but more than 245,000 acres was burned down and as many as 100,000 people were forced to evacuate and an estimated 8,400 homes and businesses were destroyed.

The wildfires ignited on October 8 and as many as 11,000 firefighters — some from as far away as Australia — were involved at one point in battling move than two dozen large blazes.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention (Cal Fire) said today that only 10 active fires remained, “many of which are projected to be fully contained within the next few days.”

Cal Fire warned, however, that there was “potential high fire activity” in southern California due to gusty winds and low humidity.
