Kanhaiya Kumar: Slams BJP for not keeping up promises and dividing people

Kanhaiya Kumar, the Former president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) said talking against the Prime Minister is not against the country and that Freedom of Speech is understood differently by different individuals.

He indirectly attacked BJP and said that people with vested interests are dividing the country on the basis of caste, colour and creed.

On Taj Mahal, Kanhaiya said "Call it a Taj Mahal, Teju Mahal, Moti Mahal or Modi Mahal, it will always remain Taj Mahal and the controversies will not impact its existence," he said.

He even said "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has two faces--one which, while addressing people, talks about their sufferings. I am with this face, but the other face just talks and does nothing (sic),"

He slammed the government for not keeping up promises made during last elections and said that government was busy safeguarding its vote bank by dividing and promoting religion rather than providing basic needs to needy and poor people.
