Diwali gift :Pay hike for 7.58 lakh employees in universites

New Delhi Oct 12: The central government has announced a Diwali gift to the university and college employees. The union cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the revision of pay scales based on the recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission for Central Government employees.

.Union HRD Minister Prakash Javedhakar has said that government extended the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission for the teaching faculty of central and state universities and aided colleges. nearly 7.58 lakh professors, assistant professors, and others will be benefitted of state government .the salaries would be increased from 10,000 to 50,000.

329 state universities will be funded by central government. he has also said that pay hike would attract new talent and quality of education benefits.

These would benefit, IIT, NIT, IIIT,IISER, IIM and centrally funded technical universities.
