Gujarat: BJP Councillor beaten-up by public over homes-demoltion

Local resident's reached Vadodara Municipal commissioner's office after their houses got demolished by civic body without notice.They were reportedly told by officials that notice had been sent to their areas councillor, Mr Patel.

The angry group then met Mr Patel and confronted him for not informing about notice but he denied receiving any notice, to which the mob got angry and tied him to a tree. He was then grilled, abused and later was thrashed.

Hasmukh Patel, the local Councillor kept saying "I didn't get any notice," but the group didn't listened to him.

Slums which were pulled down in Vadodara this morning according to Civic officials were illegal. Around 30 people have been arrested.
