Cabinet Approves Transfer of Ownership of ITDC

New Delhi Sept 20: Union Cabinet under the Chairmanship of PM Modi has taken a slew of cabinet decisions today.

# Transfer of ownership of Hotels:

The Government today has decided to transfer the ownership of the Indian Tourism Development Corporation ITDC Limited hotels to state governments. The following hotels share of Central Government would be transferred to states so that they can redevelop themselves or include a joint venture.

1. Hotel Jaipur Ashok in Jaipur will be transferred to the government of Rajasthan.

2. The Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel in Mysore will be transferred to the Government of Karnataka.

3. Donyi Polo Ashok Hotel Corporation Limited would be transferred to Arunachal Pradesh state government.

# Modernisation of Presses:

The Cabinet approved the merger and modernization of 17 Government of India Presses (GIPs) into five GIPs. These five will be at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Minto Road and Mayapuri in New Delhi, Nashik in Maharashtra and Temple Street in Kolkata.

468 acres of land of other merged presses will be given to the Land and Development office, Ministry of Urban Development. The modernization will enable these presses to undertake confidential, urgent and multi-color printing work of the Central Government offices all over the country. The employees would be redeployed and protected .
