Women Reservation Bill in Next parliment session

New Delhi Sept 20: The central Government is mulling to pass the Women Reservation Bill in the next session of the parliament.Sources say that the government has started consultations with other parties on this issue.

Earlier on various occasions, PM Modi has said that his government would ensure that a bill to ensure 33 % reservation to women in parliament and Legislative Assembly would be passed. Vice President Venkiah Naidu has also supported the bill on various occasions.

Experts believe that the passage of bill will bring a social transformation in the society and it would boost Prime Ministers Popularity and also it is in line with steps taken to empower the women.



Earlier the Bill was obstructed many times in the parliament during the Vajpayee government but the Upper House in 2010 has Cleared the bill but it was objected in Loksabha under the UPA Government.

Many women feel that Only PM Modi can facilitate the smooth passage of the bill because of the strong political will and strength to take crucial decisions and he has proven in the past with decisions such as demonetization and GST.
