Iqbal Kaskar, brother of dawood was being helped by NCP corporator

Name of a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator based in Thane is coming up , who is believed to be helping Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar in extortion . NCP corporator, who was in the news in 2015 after a leading Thane-based builder Suraj Parmar shot himself dead, passed on information to Iqbal Kaskar and his men.



While Iqbal Kaska was being questioned by the anti-extortion cell of the Thane Police on Monday , name of the corporator came up. Political leaders, businessmen and his aides helped Kaskar in identifying possible victims. After which calls would be made to them in the name of Dawood Ibrahim. Pradeep Sharma, the encounter specialist heading the anti-extortion cell, roped in his informants and gathered further information about such victims, but only one came forward and filed the complaint.

The operation was planned by Thane Police after receiving information about an extortion racket being run.
