80 Drunken drivers sentenced to Jail in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sept 19: In order to curb the drunken driving cases, The Telangana Police have decided on Monday to take stringent action against drunk driving in the capital city, Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, In a span of just two weeks, As many as 508 people (Balanagar - 113 People, Alwal - 77 People, Shamshabad - 73 People, Kukatpally - 66 People, Miyapur - 58 People) were caught red-handed in the Cyberabad limits alone during the special drives.

However, The Courts in Miyapur, Rajendra Nagar, and Medchal have sentenced 80 people of them to prison for a period of 2 to 14 days. Almost all of them were repeat offenders. While some of the Drunk Drivers got away with fines, All of the people who were caught took part in the counseling session.

Most of the road accident happen due to driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol. A lot of times Innocent People pay the price for the faults of Drunkards. The only stringent action would be bringing a change in the situation.
