Parsons Green train attack: 18-year-old man arrested in Dover

18-year-old man was arrested close to the port of Dover in connection with the train attack which injured 29 people. A foster carers’ home was raided by police in west London, to search for the spot where bomb was prepared after arresting the 18 year old.

The teenager was detained by police at 7.50 am on suspicion of being a terrorist. The arrest place was near to ferry hub in Europe, which is a commercial gateway to the French coast, raising doubts that the suspect was attemting to leave the country.Tonight the suspect will be moved to south London police station.



Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, of the Metropolitan Police, said: "We have made a significant arrest in our investigation this morning. Although we are pleased with the progress made, this investigation continues and the threat level remains at critical. The public should remain vigilant. This arrest will lead to more activity from our officers."
