KTR unveils Mission Bhagiratha Website and Mobile app launched

Hyderabad, Sept 16: The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K. Taraka Rama Rao said that if the Telangana govt manages to realize the inter-connectivity grid, Mission Bhagiratha will be transformed into a world-class project.

The Minister launched the website and mobile app of Mission Bhagiratha at the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation(RWS&S) office here on Friday.

He appreciated the officials for developing the website and mobile app using internal human resources by ensuring real-time monitoring and user-friendly interface. He had also inaugurated a state-of-the-art conference hall at the office.

While speaking on the occasion, KTR said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao launched Mission Bhagiratha to ensure ample drinking water supply to remotest villages in Telangana State.

Though the drinking water scheme to all villages will be launched in December itself, he wanted the officials not to rest until every household in every village receives drinking water.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated Mission Bhagiratha program. Though Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao envisaged the scheme, credit should be given to every employee of RWS&S department for successfully implementing the mission and setting an example for others for replication," he said.

The Representatives from nine States have already visited Telangana State to study the implementation of Mission Bhagiratha, while the remaining States also evinced interest in the novel program.

He said that the IT department will provide internet connectivity to every household using fiber optic cable ducts being laid along with pipelines under Mission Bhagiratha.

"Information Technology has replaced roads network in becoming a symbol for development. We will be the first state to provide internet connectivity to every household which has drinking water connectivity", he said.

Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman Vemula Prasanth Reddy, RWS&S engineer-in-chief Surender Reddy, and other officials were also present.
