Hyderabad Police installed CCTV cameras

Hyderabad, Sept 13: The Hyderabad City Police have collaborated with Synchrony Financial company combinedly installed 128 CCTV cameras in the city here on Tuesday.

The move came in the wake of a MoU signed last year between Hyderabad City Police and Synchrony Financial to adopt communities for installation of CCTVs. Synchrony Financial has sponsored maintenance costs for all the cameras for a period of five years and the initiative is built at a financial support of Rs 1 crore.

The cameras have Automatic Number Plate Recognition System, Video Analytics, Mobile Surveillance System, and are linked to the Command Control Centre and Data Centre. They were installed in the Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, and Reinbazaar police station limits.

M Mahendar Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad said, "The installation of CCTV cameras is an important step towards making Hyderabad a safer and a smarter city. We believe the strengthening of the surveillance network in the city will positively impact and improve the safety of citizens."

Faisal Uddin, Senior Vice President and Business Leader Synchrony Financial India, said, "We are happy to partner with the Hyderabad Police. This initiative will help the police maintain a safe environment in city and better monitor of law and order."
