Telangana Poets broken Guinness Records

Hyderabad, Sept 10: The Telangana Jagruthi Program has broken the Guinness records in poetry reading by 150 poets, which organized at the Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium here on Saturday.

The earlier record held by Norway for continuous poetry recital for 10 hours and 8 minutes by 111 poets was broken. The new record for 11 hours 28 minutes was set by 150 poets, with the event continuing late into the night.

As part of 'Kavithanjali', Telangana Jagruthi has been holding Kavi Sammelanams in 31 districts spreading poetry programs across Telangana since August 2. On Saturday, the marathon poetry recital was held at which Guinness Book of Records representative Squadron Leader Jayasimha was also present.

The marathon session would be sent to the Guinness Book of Records office and on scrutiny, a certificate will be issued. The poetic efforts with concepts based on Telangana were presented in different forms. Telangana Jagruthi president and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha, all poets, young poets and others were present in the event.
