Supreme Court bans all anti NEET protest in Tamil Nadu

New Delhi Sept 8: The Supreme Court today passed a judgment that banned all anti-NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) protests in Tamil Nadu. The court has also directed the state government to ensure that no agitation takes place against the common entrance tests for admission to medical colleges.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud have issued notices to the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. The court has fixed September 18 as the next date for hearing in the case. The court has passed the above order after a lawyer G.S. Mani seeking the court's intervention in the matter.

Earlier the protest against NEET have erupted in the Tamil Nadu after Anitha a student has comitted suicide. she has ended her life because she has failed to qualify the NEET exam, even though she has scored top marks in class XII.



Many politicians and actress have demanded justice for death and have raised the voice against the Supreme court judgment for not exempting the Tamil Nadu state.

Many people have reacted to the judgment and said that "Court cannot ban our freedom to protest as it our right and said that they would soon protest against the court till it reviews its order and exempts the state from the Examination".
