BJP,Congress receive 77 % funds from Unknown sources

New Delhi Sept 7: A report was published by Association for Democratic Reforms ADR. The report has revealed many shocking details.

* 77 % of the total declared income of the BJP and Congress came from 'unknown sources'

* The total declared income of the BJP was Rs 570.86 crore in 2015-16.

* BJP has received Rs 460.78 from unknown sources in 2015-16.

* The total income of Congress in 2015-16 was Rs 261.56 crore.

* Congress has received Rs 186.04 crore from unknown sources in 2015-16

* ADR report was prepared based on the analysis of the details submitted by the parties to the Election Commission of India.

* Income from Unknown sources include
# income from the sale of coupons
# voluntary contributions
# contributions from meetings
# relief fund and miscellaneous incomes

* Total income of seven national parties for 2015-16 was Rs 1,033.18 crore.

* Parties spent Rs 754.45 crore and declared an unspent amount of Rs 278.73 crore.
The income of the following parties are

* CPM (Rs 107.48 crore)
* BSP (Rs 47.39 crore)
* Trinamool Congress (Rs 34.58 crore)
* NCP (Rs 9.14 crore)
* CPI (Rs 2.18 crore)
