Union Govt launches 2 New Family Planning choices

New Delhi Sept 6: The Union Government has launched two new free contraceptives under the program 'Mission ParivarVikas', a central family planning initiative.The new family planning techniques include

* An injectable drug.
* A pill.

The government believes that the newly launched techniques will help the people to make a choice regarding the technique to be preferred for family planning.

Officials have said that these contraceptives would be available for free in medical colleges and district hospitals at present.

Currently, these are available in states such as Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Haryana, West Bengal, Odisha, Delhi, and Goa.

Doctors have said that "The Antara injectable being effective for three months and "the Chayya pill for one week, will help meet the changing needs of couples and help women plan and space their pregnancies".
