Helmet is mandatory from tomorrow

Vijayawada, Aug 31: The wearing of Helmet is to become mandatory in Vijayawada from tomorrow onwards. The Vijayawada DCP Kanthi Rana has stated that Every two wheeler riders must wear the helmet from Friday.

Rana warned that, If anyone found without wearing a helmet, the rider should be fined worth Rs. 100. If the rider caught repeatedly, the penalty should be incremented respectively and the rider's driving license also canceled, he added.

Recently, The road accidents in Vijayawada are raising excessively, In those most of the victims are two wheeler riders.

A senior police officer of Vijayawada Commissionerate said that the emphasis was right now on spreading awareness as people tend to be negligent though buying helmets were not such a huge burden. As the rule of wearing a helmet as mandatory is yet to be implemented strictly.
