Centre released funds for SC, ST candidates

New Delhi, Aug 31: The Union Minister for Labor Bandaru Dattatreya said that the Center is working for the empowerment of SC/ST/OBCs. Dattatreya met the Union Social Justice Minister Tawarchand Gehlot yesterday.

He spoke to media and said that "The Center has released Rs 90 crore to the AP under Special Assistance to SC, ST sub-plan and Rs.84.85 crore for Telangana."

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 114.09 crore to AP and Rs 55.72 crore to Telangana candidates who have applied from various corporations. The Center also releases funding for various schemes, Dattatreya said.

Dattatreya said that Gehlot had promised to bring the OBC reservation bill in the next parliamentary session. He had given financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh for surgery to a laborer Balakrishna, who is suffering from bone marrow disease.These funds were released through ESIC Corporation, said Dattatreya.
