TSRTC to install TV sets in City buses

Hyderabad, Aug 29: The Telangana State Govt has made a decision, which can provide entertainment to the passengers in city buses when traffic jam appeared.

TSRTC has planning to install television(TV) sets in city buses.

The state Govt has decided to install 400 TVs in ordinary, Metro Luxury and Express buses. But, so far, the corporation installed TVs only in 150 buses.

The idea was to install TVs in city buses to provide entertainment for passengers, besides generating commercial revenue as part of a pilot project for six months. Accordingly, three private agencies came forward for the project.

While one agency managed to install TVs, the others are finding it difficult to execute the project, said a senior official.

The agencies said the installation was tough because of rattling and constant vibrations in the buses. The other reasons, they said, were poor picture quality, apart from other glitches that hindered the project.

But, TSRTC did not buy these reasons and is contemplating taking action against the agencies.

As per the agreement, the agencies have to pay Rs 500 a month for one Metro Luxury bus, Rs 300 for Express bus and Rs 200 for an ordinary city bus.
