Hyderabad, Aug 27: The Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TSGenco) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) officials have decided to construct the 5×800 MW Yadadri Supercritical Thermal Power Station in Nalgonda district in fast track and launch units at once.

The meeting between TSGenco and BHEL officials was held here on Saturday to discuss the grounding of works following the issuance of environmental clearance by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change during the last week of June this year and completion of other formalities by the State Pollution Control Board after that.

Chairman and Managing Director of Genco D. Prabhakar Rao, Executive Director of BHEL Gopala Krishna and others attended the meeting.

According to officials, the meeting discussed the design of the project and various technical issues to be followed in tune with the guidelines issued for implementation of the project as part of its environmental clearance.

A final decision, however, on the technicalities, administration, and costs for executing the Rs. 25,000 crore project would be taken on Monday at a meeting between Mr. Prabhakar Rao and Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL Atul Sobti.
