Kukatpally Allwyn colony filled with toxic foam

Hyderabad, Aug 26: As we know that the Rains has lashed out the city on Friday night left many areas under sheets of water, affecting traffic flow in few areas and disrupting power supply in others.

Madhapur received highest rainfall of 128 mm, followed by 127 mm in Balanagar and 116 mm in Bandlaguda.

Rain water entered into few houses last night. GHMC in association with Hare Krishna Movement is arranging 3,000 food packets for residents in Miyapur, Madhapur, Hafeezpet, Chandanagar and other areas.

Froth from neighboring lake covered up many streets in Allwyn Colony leaving the local residents worried. A drain in Hyderabad's Dharani Nagar is spilling thick toxic foam and this has grown to such an extent that it is posing threat to the health of the people living in its vicinity. The reason behind the foam is the toxic wastes released into the drain.

The Dharani Nagar Residents have expressed displeasure over the negligence of Govt. They said that their colony has been struggling with polluted toxic foam appeared from since 3 years.The officials are showing temporary solutions only.They urged for to give the permanent solution for the problem.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao is constantly monitoring the relief operations.
