Uttam Kumar Reddy calls padayatra for Dalits

Hyderabad, Aug 11: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that entire opposition would wage a united battle against the TRS Government for police atrocities on Dalits, STs and others in Rajanna-Sircilla district.

Addressing the Round Table Conference on "Atrocities and attacks on Dalits" organised by SC Department of TPCC at Somajiguda Press Club on Thursday, Uttam Kumar Reddy informed that an All Party delegation would call on DGP Anurag Sharma on Friday to ask as to why no FIR was issued under SC, ST Atrocities Act when victims of Sircilla incident lodged a complaint before the DSP Sircilla. He said all guilty cops should be suspended and booked under serious charges.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that an all-party delegation would also call on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan against the anti-Dalit actions of TRS Government. It was also decided to conduct a photo exhibition on the incident.

He also informed that the all-party delegation would also meet President of India Ram Nath Kovind on August 21st or 22nd to submit a representation on anti-SC, ST, BC moves of KCR Govt.

The all-party delegation would also give representations to National Human Rights Commission and National Commissions for SCs and STs.

The TPCC chief also proposed that all-party Padayatra and a public meeting would be held at Sircilla if justice is not done to the victims.
