682 textile mills closed by June

New Delhi Aug 10: An information was shared recently.
The government has today said that

* 682 textile mills were closed until June 2017.
* 232 of them were in Tamil Nadu.
* 85 were in Maharashtra.
* 60 in Uttar Pradesh.
* 42 such mills are in Haryana.
* 1,399 textile mills were operational as on June 30.
* 752 are operational in Tamil Nadu.
* 135 are operational in Maharashtra.
* 112 are operational in Andhra Pradesh.

The minister has said that the more FDI was received in textile industries and the GST would be beneficial to the industry.she hoped that many more mills would come up in the country.
