Mamata Banerjee congratulates Ahmed Patel

New Delhi, August 09: As we knew that, Congress leader Ahmed Patel has won in Rajasabha election which was held in Gujarat.

From this perspective, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has congratulated Congress leader Ahmed Patel here on Wednesday.

She congratulated patel for winning the Rajya Sabha election in Gujarat.

"@ahmedpatel Ji congratulations for a big fight. Good fight. Good win," Banerjee said in a Twitter post.

Sharad yadav also tweeted that, "Heartiest congratulations on your victory in Rajya Sabha election in spite of toughest hurdles. Wish you all success in your career".

Patel, political secretary to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, beat Balwantsinh Rajput in a bitterly fought election.

Rajput was till recently the partys chief whip in the state Assembly before defecting to BJP.
