Pension rules eased

New Delhi Aug 6: A clarity was issued. Central Government has said that pensioners need not visit the bank to start their pension. The government has also said their copy of the Pension Payment Order (PPO) will be handed over to them at the time of retirement.

Government officials have said that "current rules provide for an undertaking to be submitted by the retiring government servants or pensioners to the disbursing banks before the commencement of their pensions".

The pensioner will be handed over a copy after the bank has verified the copy and it would be returned to the Central Pension Accounting Office.

The government has re issued strict guidelines for departmental officers to make sure that pensioners don't visit the bank. The government has taken this decision after numerous complaints were received regarding the difficulties faced by senior citizens.

Let's hope that this new orders would reduce the troubles of pensioners.
