Facebook post raises Rs 16 lakh in 2 hours

New Delhi, August 06: Facebook has given a golden path to acid Victim.

Now, a social media post raised Rs 16.5 lakh in just two hours, money which will provide her and her daughter a future.

Coming to details, Five years ago, Nerul resident Mabiya Mandal's world collapsed in an instant while she was sleeping, following a gruesome acid attack by her husband.

The funds will be given directly to Mabiya, now 25, for a series of surgeries that are to be done over the coming months. "Any additional money is for her to use and if the need arises, we will re-start the campaign," said Karishma Mehta, founder of Humans of Bombay, a Facebook group that raised the funds. Humans of Bombay features work by a team of photojournalists portraying the stories behind photographs.
