Aadhar Mandatory for land registration

New Delhi Aug 3: Another move to curb Black Money will soon be taken. The government has planned to make Aadhar mandatory for the following services.

* Registration of land documents.
* Agreement for sale.
* Power of attorney.

The government feels that the mandatory usage of Aadhar based authentication would curb Benami transaction and use of black money in real estate sector. Sources say that government has started working on electronic registration of properties, for which furnishing Aadhar is mandatory.

The government for this purpose has planned to amend the Registration Act, 1908. Currently the Government has started Implementing Benami Transactions Act under which a person would be sent to prison for 7 years if he found to possess benami property.

Let's hope that this move would soon be implemented so that black money is curbed .
