Loksabha passes GST bills extension

New Delhi, July Aug 2: Another day of parliament has passed.

Rajya Sabha: The house couldn't take up any business because opposition parties have raised slogans and have protested against IT raids on Bengaluru resort where Congress MLA was residing.The house was adjourned today.

Loksabha: The lower house passed the following bills

* The Central Goods and Services Tax (Extension to Jammu and Kashmir), Bill, 2017.
* The Integrated Goods and Services Tax (Extension to Jammu and Kashmir), Bill, 2017.

The above bills will ensure that GST would be applicable to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Replying to the debate Arun Jaitley the Finance Minister has said that the GST would benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He has also said that there was no special economic status given to the state under Article 370.

The House also took up The Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The bill aims to empower the RBI to solve the Rising NPA problems in banks.The discussion was not concluded.
