Railways to introduce new blankets

New Delhi July 30: An action has been taken. Indian Railways has taken steps to improve passenger amenities such as

* Frequency of washing blankets has been increased

* Existing blankets would be replaced with designer lightweight
blankets with less wool content designed by
National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFT).

* Used blankets will be sanitized on a regular basis.

* Thin, cold washable blankets would also be introduced.

* The cover of the blanket would also be changed regularly.

* More mechanized laundry shops would be opened soon.

The railways has taken the above steps after many passengers have complained and recently CAG has pointed out that blankets were not washed for even six months.

Let's hope that the measures taken would ensure that passengers get clean blankets during the travel.
