Pranab Mukherjee restored heritage of Rastrapathi Bhavan

New Delhi July 26: Indias new president has occupied Rastrpathi Bhavan. Some facts have emerged that former President Pranab Mukherjee has contributed a lot for the restoration of Bhavan.

* Rastrapathi Bhavan was designed by British architect Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens.

* Building has 340 rooms, acres of gardens and crafted fountains.

* Old and decrepit stables were converted into a museum.

* Colonial-era clock towers were refurbished.

* A building of the President's Bodyguard (PBG) was restored.

* Former President has definitely enhanced the architectural grandeur of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

* He also made the country's first residence more accessible to the people.

However, there were some remarks that he couldn't do much remove stagnant water and it became a mosquito hub and Delhi government had issued notices.
