381 Officers punished by government

New Delhi July 26: The Central Government is trying to reform the Indian bureaucracy. Union Governments new mantra 'Perform or perish' is showing its results. Under this scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered all the public servants of Government including civil servants to be accountable for their works.

Sources say that the government has acted against 381 civil service officers, these include 24 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers actions such as premature retirement and cut in remuneration.

The reasons given for action against them are

* Non-performers
* Allegedly being involved in illegal activities.

Sources say that government would continue against more such officers if they were found in such activities in future also. Let's hope that government officers would perform better so that action wouldn't be taken against them.
