Cancer Clinics launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, July 16: 'Cancer Clinics', a dedicated cancer specialty clinic, was launched here on Saturday to provide curated services for cancer patients and their carers.

Serial healthcare entrepreneur Sonali Srungaram launched the Oncology help start-up venture 'Cancer Clinics' to improve well-being through integrated care by a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals.

It offers screening, information, advice on nutrition, relaxation classes, psychologists and nursing support for anyone needing to talk or dealing with depression, fear of the end, fear of cancer recurring and other issues.

The initial set of services includes specialist nursing, nutrition, counseling, physiotherapy, and coaching.

CEO and Co-Chairperson of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories G.V. Prasad and his wife Co- Founder and Managing Trustee of Dr. Reddy's Foundation Anuradha, formally opened the facility.

'Cancer Clinics' Managing Director Sonali Srungaram said she understood the need for this after having started CIPHER Healthcare, which delivers large cancer prevention drives.

"There is a wind of change in the landscape of cancer because more people are able to survive cancer. Those with a recurrence live longer. What is needed is a care center that eases their burden and that's how Cancer Clinics took birth," she said.

Sonali's pan India 'Cancer Helpline' has already benefited thousands of people seeking information about the subject and guidance to experience the joys of everyday living.

CIPHER was initially launched by the founder with an investment of Rs 1 crore. Last year, an initial friends and family round of funding raised Rs 0.75 crore. Currently, Rs 3.5 crores are being raised from Angel Investors and existing investors to fund the first Cancer Clinics, she said.

'Cancer Clinics' plans to expand to other cities.
