Fake Currency racket busted in Secunderabad

Hyderabad, July 15: The Hyderabad police have arrested a gang of 5 members gang for circulating fake currency notes in Rs 2000 denomination here on Friday.

While coming to details, The arrested were identified as Shaik Arshad Ali, Shaik Arif of Ghatkesar and Abdul Razzak of West Bengal. Two other accused Mohammed Ghouse of Yakutpura and Khaimul Haq of West Bengal are absconding.

The Police seized fake currency notes worth Rs 1.9 lakh from their possession. According to the police, all the five accused formed a gang while in prison.

After their release, Arshad went to Nagpur in pursuance of their plan and received fake currency notes worth Rs 2 lakh sent by Khaimul through Razzak.

After receiving the currency notes, Arshad and Razzak reached Hyderabad and gave five fake currency notes worth Rs 10,000 to Ghouse for circulation on a trial basis.

On Friday, Arshad, Arif and Razzak reached Secunderabad railway station to circulate the fake currency notes when task force team nabbed them following the inputs given by DRI.
