75% MPs, MLAs are Crorepatis

New Delhi July 15: Interesting facts were revealed yesterday. A report has been published by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and New election watch (NEW) recently. the major highlights of this report are

* 75 % of total votes polled by the majority of MLAs and MPs are crorepatis.

* 3,460 Members of Parliament MPS and Members of Legislative Assemblies MLAs have assets worth more than 1 crore. ( 445 Lok Sabha and 194 Rajya Sabha MPs, 2,721 MLAs).

* 8,18,703 out of 10,91,472 total votes that would be polled are members who are crorepatis.

* 4,852 out of 4,896 affidavits submitted by the individuals to the election commission at the time of elections has been scrutinized.

* 774 of 776 affidavits of MPs and 4,078 of 4,120 MLAs affidavits have been verified.

* 1,581 MPs and MLAs accounting for 33 per cent have criminal cases against them (184 Lok Sabha members, 44 Rajyasabha members, 1353 MLAs ).

* 65 Women MPS from Lok Sabha, 23 members of Rajya Sabha and 363 MLA from all states (highest women MLAs in UP).
