OU asks police help to vacate non-boarders

Hyderabad, July 12: The Osmania University to seek police help to remove the nonboarders hostels voluntarily after issuing several notices to them here on Tuesday. Among the other options, the university is contemplating to cut off power and water supply to hostels where non-boarders are staying.

In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, the university said that seeking police help, cutting off power and water supply were some tough decision in the offing so as to refurbish hostels and provide better amenities to legitimate borders.

The varsity said such measures would prompt students to vacate and enable the administration undertake renovation work.The non-boarders were cautioned that authorities would not intervene in the case of police raids.

The university said that it continues to bear financial burden towards power and water supply though regular courses were yet to take off, barring research activity.

This is the opportune time to fix all problems related to amenities in the hostels when classes have not yet commenced for the second year and admissions for the academic year 2017-2018 were in progress, the university added.
