Book your flight tickets from Railways App

New Delhi, July 12: The Indian Railways has come with a new proposal in the form of a mobile app which can facilitate to book the train tickets and flight tickets through single App only.

The Central Railways department is going to launch a new mobile application in this week, which can use to book flight tickets.

The integrated mobile app will offer users options like booking a porter, retiring room or ordering food apart from booking train tickets

The Mobile App project was first announced during the Rail Budget 2016-17. It is being developed by the CRIS, the Railways' software arm, at a cost of Rs. 7 crores.

The official said currently there are multiple apps of the Railways to cater to various passenger requirement, including onboard cleaning but most of them offer only a single service.

Meanwhile, The Mobile app users need to search and download each application separately and need to give a single window interface for these services, the official said.

Therefore there was a need to give a single window interface for these services, he said, adding besides train- related services, the integrated app can also be used for booking taxis, hotels and also air tickets.

The Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said, "Presently we have different digital solutions for ticketing, grievance redressal, and other issues. We intend to integrate all such facilities into two mobile apps, one dealing with all ticketing issues and the other for receipt and redressal of complaints and suggestions related to all our services".
