Food poison in KGBV, 40 girls affected

Telangana: Kumram Bheem Asifabad, July 11: Here a drastic incident has occurred, while a total of 40 girl students were allegedly suffered from food poisoning after having breakfast at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Koutala Mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district here on Monday.

Presently, Their medical condition is stated to be stable. Collector M Champalal ordered a probe into the incident. This institution registered similar incident some eight months back.

The female inmates of the institution experienced nausea and stomach pain when they had Puri and curry made of green gram dal at around 10 am. They were rushed government hospital of Koutala and Sirpur (T) town.

They are undergoing treatment and their medical condition is out of danger. They will be discharged by evening, stated an official. Upon learning about the incident, Champalal instructed authorities concerned to initiate action against responsible officials by carrying out an inquiry.

He had directed authorities concerned to take steps to avoid recurrence of similar incidents in future.
