V.K. Singh to rescue Indians from Iraq

New Delhi, July 11: Iraq Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization has been wiped out of Mosul. Iraq's Prime Minister Haider al-Abdi announced this on Sunday Meanwhile, there is a government to find 39 Indian nationals missing during the war from IS. To get information about the Indians, the Minister of State of External Affairs has left to Iraq.

Let us know that Mosul was captured by IS from the year 2014. During this time, 39 Indians were missing from the Irbil. Most of them were from Punjab. After the news of the freedom of Mosul, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and the Indian government have started their search.

External Affairs Ministry spokesman Gopal Bagale said, "To free Mosul from ISIS is an important dimension in the global war against terrorism and India is welcome." With the announcement of the release of Mosul from Iraqi Prime Minister, the government activated many of its channels to detect these Indian nationals. Bagley said that the Indian ambassador to Iraq and the commerce minister in Tribal was instructed to continue efforts to find out Indian citizens.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had earlier assured Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh that her ministry was making full efforts to detect 39 Indians. Most of these people belong to Punjab.

In October last year, the Iraqi army waged a war with Mosul in collaboration with US-led coalition forces. After the air strikes and offensive ground range, the eastern part of the city was freed from IS in January. Although in the war, the city of Mosul has suffered huge devastation. Many parts of this ancient city were completely ruined. Thousands of civilians were killed and 10 lakh people had to flee.
