Supreme Court gives nod for IIT counselling

New Delhi July 10: A good news for students. The Supreme Court today has lifted the ban on the counseling for admissions into IIT colleges. The court has last week issued a stay on the counseling because of the bonus marks issue. The Court has also ordered the High Courts not to take any more petitions regarding this issue so that students would have a clarity.

The court has given this judgment after it took a written undertaking from IITS that such mistakes will not be repeated and students will not be awarded bonus marks in future. Earlier a petition was filed by students to stop the counseling and court on July 7 has issued a stay after hearing arguments from both sides.

Finally, students are happy because they would get admissions into Indias prestigious institutions IITS and NITs.
