Central Government appoints new High Court Judges

New Delhi, July 7: The central government has notified names of 15 new judges. The judges are appointed to Allahabad, Punjab and Haryana High Courts. 9 judges were appointed to Allahabad High Court and 6 judges to Punjab and Haryana High Courts.

Sources say that currently there are 24 high courts had 450 vacancies.The appointments were made after the collegium had submitted to the government out of the 29 names and later recalled one of the names. The central government has also appointed 6 members out of the 7 names recommended by the collegium.

Currently, High Court Judges are appointed after Collegium system formed by Supreme Court makes a recommendation to the law ministry.The government will examine the candidates recommended and after through inquiry judges will be appointed.
