Kothagudem - Sathupalli railway line started soon

Kothagudem, July 6: The Telangana state-run based Singareni Collieries company has sanctioned Rs 50 crores as the first installment for the construction of Kothagudem-Sathupally railway line. The SCCL CMD, N Sridhar handed over a cheque to Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railways at Rail Nilayam, on Wednesday.

The CMD requested the railway authority to make necessary initiatives to complete the railway line before starting up the Opencast Project at Kistaram (Sathupally) due for 2019. The railway board has issued permissions for construction of Kothagudem-Sathupally broad gauge railway line. Singareni has agreed to bear the construction cost of 53.20km railway line amounting to Rs 620 crore.

As part of this, Rs. 50 crore handed over to railways. Higher authorities have reviewed the work progress of Kothagudem-Sathupally railway line. The Land acquisition was already started and tenders were called for the construction of a few bridges coming up in the government lands, railway officials explained.

SCR authorities requested the Singareni authorities to extend its cooperation for the acquisition of forest lands and private lands, and initiate action to get necessary permissions from the government.
