Railway passengers to hear a good news

New Delhi, July 6: A Good news for railway passengers. The Central government has extended the service charge waiver on online booking by 3 months. Earlier the Union government has decided to drop the service charge levied on the railway tickets booked online after demonetization in November last year.

The government said that this move would encourage digital booking of tickets. Earlier the service charges on booking of railway tickets were extended in March until June 30 and yesterday the government has further extended until the end of September.

Sources say IRCTC would loose RS 500 crore revenue due to the service charge exemption. Finally, the customers are happy because they will not bear an additional burden of RS 30 per Ticket.
