Marriage Registration mandatory

New Delhi, July 5: A report has been submitted. Law Commission has made some far-reaching suggestions in the 270 report submitted to the government. The commission has suggested compulsory registrations of the marriages. Some of the important recommendations are

* All people must register their marriages irrespective of what religion or the tradition they follow.

* Birth and Death Registration ACT 1969 must be amended to facilitate registrations of marriages

* The law commission doesn't interfere with personal laws of any religion.



* All people who are responsible for registration of Birth and Death of people must be given authority to register marriages.

* Couples must obtain a certificate of registration if they don't register their marriage within 30 days and they will be imposed fine.

* The central government must create a unified registration system or database similar to Aadhar.

Let's hope the government accepts recommendations.
